From ongoing service in the U.S. Navy to supporting the safety and independence of seniors and adults with disabilities in his Pennsylvania community, Right at Home franchisee Ted Pease brings a unique perspective to in-home care.

Pease’s path to Right at Home was influenced by both his military experience and personal connection to caregiving.
“I wanted to find something that would allow me to provide a good service to people who really needed it,” Pease said. “I watched my mom deal with in-home care with my grandparents. Then I started doing some work to care for my dad, and I saw how much that was. Everything came together at a great time for the Right at Home opportunity, and I was excited to invest in a company that could provide a great service to folks.”
Before finding the home care industry, Pease served in the Navy as a surface warfare officer. He later transitioned to pursue an MBA and serve in the Reserves. He continues to serve, and this experience has proven invaluable in business ownership.
“Skills I developed during service, like work ethic and drive, translate well to my work with Right at Home,” Pease said. “Being able to ‘strap up my boots’ and just do the work has been really helpful. But ultimately, I think it comes down to service. Am I serving others well? And when I am, it’s all worth it.”
Looking to the future of home care, Pease sees both challenges and opportunities: "We are absolutely going to see continued growth within the home care field," he said. "The differentiating factor is going to be the ability to staff cases with quality caregivers."
To address this in his own market, Pease has implemented caregiver retention tools including health care benefits and a web-based rewards system, but the state — and the need within it — will continue to grow.
Currently, Right at Home is looking to partner with multiple franchise partners to bring another 21 offices to Pennsylvania, targeting development in Johnstown, Chambersburg, State College, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, East Stroudsburg, and more.
