Shake Shack Partners with Grubhub for Nationwide Delivery

The burger and steak joint is hopping on the delivery train as more and more restaurants see major growth from partnering with third-party delivery services.

Shake Shack and Grubhub recently announced their partnership and plan to begin delivery services nationwide in the future, according to CNBC.

Their collaboration is currently being tested in four locations: Morningside Heights in New York; the River North area in Chicago; Lingston, New Jersey; and Darien, Connecticut. While Shake Shack isn’t a franchise, its partnership with GrubHub “comes as major restaurant players are seeing key growth from delivery,” the article said. Fast-casual chains such as McDonald’s, Chipotle and Starbucks have also teamed up with various delivery services.

According to CNBC, the goal of this partnership is to enhance the customer’s overall experience. Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti believes communication between a restaurant and third-party delivery service is important for better guest appreciation, the article said.

With the first four pilot locations, Shake Shack will have “access to tools to analyze performance or ordering trends, as well as Grubhub’s enterprise support team,” the article states.
