The location would employ 8-12 people and the brand is eyeing the Shelbyville Wal-Mart for potential real estate.

With the franchise model, the brand is able to become a part of the communities where there is a presence.

&quot;We want people who want to be the pretzel mayor of their town,&quot; Philly Pretzel Factory Chief Development Officer Tom Monaghan told the Shelbyville Daily Union reporter. &quot;It&#39;s about being a part of the community.&quot;

The pretzel product typically does well in Wal-Mart locations because of the flow of people in and out of the supermarket.

&quot;There&#39;s a concentration of people there where we can take advantage of a captive audience.&quot; Monaghan told the reporter.
