Shuckin’ Shack, a 16-unit oyster bar franchise, is bringing its delicious menu and casual eatery chain to the Chicago area. The company is busy constructing a new location in the suburb of Naperville, which is set to open its doors this Fall.
Kyle and Angie Howard are the new franchisees who signed on for the unit, which is located at 8 West Gartner Road, Suite 140, in the Naperville Plaza Shopping Center. The restaurant is gearing up to welcome families and hungry and thirsty patrons from all over the Chicago metro, including the nearby cities of Geneva, St. Charles and Batavia.
“Kyle and Angie are very serious about getting involved in the community via Shuckin' Shack. I believe they'll be great owners, bringing a great product to a very desirable market,” said Jonathan Weathington, CEO of the franchise.
The couple is thrilled to be business owners and they are very happy to be bringing Shuckin’ Shack to the area. It will be Illinois' first location, and the company also has a unit in the works for the border town and St. Louis suburb of Edwardsville.
“We were searching online when we came across an opportunity for Shuckin’ Shack; right off the bat it seemed like a perfect fit,” said Kyle Howard. “We had been leaning towards entering the food business and loved the idea of bringing a quality seafood restaurant to Chicagoland. An oyster bar in the Chicago suburbs is not very common, and we are thrilled to be able to bring something different to the area.”
Weathington agreed that the concept will do great as it expands to other states farther from the East Coast. The novelty of fresh and responsibly-sourced seafood is sure to catch the attention of people who live in the midwest, and the company is excited to capitalize on that.
“One is just the beginning. We know the integrity of the product that we're bringing, coupled with the authentic coastal experience, is unmatched,” Weathington said. “We look forward to expanding with the Howards and are open to opportunities in the greater Chicago area as well.”
