Amid growing optimism surrounding the job market, U.S. small business confidence rebounded from a two-year low in April, which supports the general consensus that the economy is getting stronger and continues to gain momentum.

Fox Business reported that on Tuesday, the National Federation of Independent Business said its small business optimism index increased one point to a 93.6 mark last month.

According to the index, small business owners reported an increase in hiring, but many still struggle to find ideal candidates for open positions. There was also an increase in the number of owners planning to hire new workers, with most of the job creation coming in construction, manufacturing and professional services.

This growing optimism bodes well for the franchise industry as the sector’s numbers also reflect an increase in hiring and growth after 14,100 new franchise jobs were created in April according to the ADP National Franchise Report, marking a year-over-year growth rate of more than four percent.
