With the introduction of Red Bull slushies as well as other rich new fares, the franchise is not looking to break into salads anytime soon.

While somehow avoiding any reference to adding vodka, Bloomberg recently reported that the franchise Sonic has become the first fast-food chain to offer Red Bull—in the form, of course, of a frozen slushie.
Sonic is reportedly also gearing up to offer cake batter milkshakes as well as an upgraded BLT—now with 50 percent more bacon—later this spring.
Bloomberg writes that the energy drink slushie and other decadent fares are meant to entice “young, hungry males who have remained loyal fast-food customers even as eating habits shift in the U.S.” It notes that while several chains have hopped on the trendy diet and healthy living bandwagon, many fast-food brands are countering that shift by pushing indulgent options more than ever.
