<a href="http://www.smoothiekingfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=spartanburg-herald-journal-smoothie-king-announces-plans-to-open-first-location-in-spartanburg-south-carolina-5102" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Smoothie King</a> and its menu of drinks for healthy-minded people on the go will open its first Spartanburg store on Thursday. Smoothie King is known for its fitness blends such as The Activator, Gladiator and the Hulk; wellness blends such as Blueberry Heaven and Green Tea Tango; and take-a-break blends such as Caribbean Way and Fruit Fusion. &#8220;This is our flagship store,&#8221; said franchisee Derek Bullard. &#8220;It&#8217;s a great location and the traffic count is high.&#8221; Bullard, his wife, LaVondria, and son Nick will operate the Spartanburg store along with a staff of 15 employees. They&#8217;ve been busy putting the final touches on the walk-in store that also will feature drive-thru service. A VIP soft-opening party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at which free small Smoothies will be given away. The store will open to the public at 7 a.m. Thursday.
