Your coffee run can now be expedited. Starbucks is rolling out a new mobile program to three more states next week to help customers move through the ordering and payment process quicker.

The mobile ordering feature, called Mobile Order & Pay, is currently being tested in Portland, Oregon and allows customers to place their drink and food orders ahead of time without waiting in a long line – especially during the morning java rush.

Beginning March 17, app usage will be extended to other locations in Oregon, as well as Washington, Idaho and Alaska.

"Mobile, in many ways, is the future of the fast-food industry," says Sam Oches, editor of the trade publication QSR Magazine. "Fast food is all about speed and convenience, and mobile ordering, in many ways, makes the fast-food experience faster and more convenient."

Starbucks joins brands like Taco Bell, McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts in appealing to more tech-savvy Millennials.
