This month Clay Koenig will open his seventh&nbsp;<a href="http://www.smoothiekingfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=sun-herald-young-smoothie-king-franchisee-finds-success-in-the-gulf-coast-9925" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Smoothie&nbsp;King</a>&nbsp;location.&nbsp;After a career for the Smoothie King corporate offer,&nbsp;Koenig decided to become a franchisee and jumped into business ownership.&nbsp;

For his business partner, Travis Bolster, the Gulfport location will be his 12th&nbsp;location.&nbsp; 
 
The company wanted him to continue with corporate development, said Stephen Foley, franchise development manager for&nbsp;Smoothie&nbsp;King. 
 
&ldquo;He wanted to build stores and build brand,&rdquo; Foley said. 
 
Four years ago Koenig and Bolster formed a company and opened their first store together in Mobile, Alabama. Soon after, they opened locations in&nbsp;D&rsquo;Iberville, Mississippi; Tallahassee, Florida; Biloxi, Mississippi; another in Mobile, Alabama; and then Slidell, Louisiana.&nbsp; 
 
Once the Gulfport location opens, the business duo have plans for a new store in Laurel this spring and another in Tallahassee.
