Survey: Americans Prefer Paying with Cash for Smaller Purchases

A CreditCards.com survey found that almost half of consumers prefer using cash for purchases under $10.

A survey found that Americans prefer paying with cash when the total comes out to less than $10, according to a Fox Business article.

CreditCards.com commissioned SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to conduct the survey, which involved phone interviews with 1,002 adults.

The results found that 45 percent of U.S. consumers who own a rewards credit card prefer using cash for purchases under $10. Thirty percent of consumers prefer to use a debit card for purchases under $10, and 23 percent of consumers prefer using a credit card, according to the article.

The survey also found that men are more likely than women to be impatient with how long it can take to pay with a credit card, according to the article.
