In its first-ever acquisition, 94-unit restaurant brand <a href="https://www.sweetgreen.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=sweetgreen-buys-out-dc-based-delivery-service-2710225" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Sweetgreen</a> has taken on a fellow D.C.-founded business, <a href="https://www.galleyfoods.com/joining_sweetgreen?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=sweetgreen-buys-out-dc-based-delivery-service-2710225" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Galley Foods</a>. Although Sweetgreen&rsquo;s headquarters relocated to Los Angeles in 2016, their shared D.C. roots played a part in the purchase. &ldquo;We&#39;re like-minded in our mission and in our commitment to our customers to better understand them and meet them wherever they are,&quot; said Sweetgreen CEO Jonathan Neman in a statement reported by <a href="https://www.nrn.com/fast-casual/sweetgreen-acquires-meal-delivery-platform?NL=NRN-02_&amp%3BIssue=NRN-02__20190612_NRN-02__690&amp%3Bsfvc4enews=42&amp%3Bcl=article_1_1&amp%3Butm_rid=CPG06000007795822&amp%3Butm_campaign=31127&amp%3Butm_medium=email&amp%3Belq2=8fbe876fdb9a4b99ad12e400d6568d9a&utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=sweetgreen-buys-out-dc-based-delivery-service-2710225" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Nation&rsquo;s Restaurant News</a>. Neman went on to say that Galley Foods could give them &ldquo;unparalleled insight into delivery.&rdquo; 

Galley Foods will continue services in D.C., with the added bonus of access to Sweetgreen&rsquo;s significant supply chain. In collaboration with <a href="https://dreamingoutloud.org/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=sweetgreen-buys-out-dc-based-delivery-service-2710225" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Dreaming Out Loud</a>, a D.C.-based nonprofit, the two brands plan to deliver pre-prepared, healthy meals to families participating in an urban farm program.
