T-Mobile Tackles the Restaurant Industry by Teaming Up with Burger King

These unexpected restaurant partnerships are ringing off the hook.

Who would’ve thought that one day a mobile wireless network company and fast food chain would team up? According to T-Mobile, the nationwide mobile network announced its promotional partnership with Burger King to give away free food to Un-carrier customers—or those who do 100% of their mobile wireless business with the brand in exchange for waived contracts and fees .

Starting September 3 through January 2020, Un-carrier customers will be gifted free BK bites––yes, that includes the iconic WHOPPER––on T-Mobile Tuesdays. Customers will be able to cop a free sandwich through the mobile company’s app––how convenient is that?

“There are few things Americans agree on these days, but most of us agree that burgers are delicious and free burgers somehow taste even better,” said T-Mobile CEO John Legree, according to the article.

This isn’t the first time T-Mobile is giving its customers freebies. The mobile network has partnered with popular brands such as Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Walgreens, Dunkin’ and more to thank its users for their loyalty.

This also isn’t the first surprising partnership we’ve seen in the restaurant world––Domino’s wowed customers when it announced its recent partnership with the technology and automotive company, Xeno. In other news, KFC teamed up with Beyond Meat making it the first U.S. fast casual restaurant to introduce a plant-based chicken––so in short, the innovation is real.

It’s clear that brands are thinking outside the box––and by the looks of it, these unforeseen partnerships can prove quite successful.
