Taco Bell Doubles Live Más Scholarships Commitment

The brand will be expanding its scholarship program to help young people reach for their academic and career goals.

Taco Bell has announced that it will be increasing the Live Más scholarship program from $10 million to $21 million by 2021. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, the program is open to students aged 16-24 and requires a 2-minute video entry explaining the individual’s passions. No tests, essays or grades are factored into the selection of the recipients, who each receive between $5,000–$25,000 in support.

“When we first committed to awarding $10 million, we never imagined we would be more than doubling it so quickly. We know that affordability is a major barrier to education, so we hope that by doubling our funding, we can double the number of doors opened for young people, and remove twice as many obstacles for innovators, creators and dreamers,” said Tina Nguyen executive director of the Taco Bell Foundation.

This is only one of the ways in which Taco Bell has committed resources to education. The franchise also offers a GED Certification program complete with personal advisors, practices tests and study materials.
