Facebook reaches a new high in monthly active users and is focusing on how the platform will affect humanity.

Facebook has reached a new milestone in users and with that comes great responsibility. According to a recent TechCrunch article, Facebook now has 2 billion monthly active users making it the largest social app above others such as YouTube, WeChat, Twitter and SnapChat. More recent growth has been largely due to increases in users from the developing world.
To celebrate, Facebook is promoting a “Good Adds Up” campaign with personalized videos for users to create and then share. “We’re getting to a size where it’s worth really taking a careful look at what are all the things that we can do to make social media the most positive force for good possible,” said Facebook Chief Product Officer Chris Cox.
While Facebook may have beaten the competition so far, it also has sociological issues to tackle since users have started to use the platform so frequently they often misuse it.
