TechCrunch: Facebook Stories reveals 150M daily viewers and here come ads

As Snapchat continues to lose followers, Facebook looks to capitalize.

Facebook Stories launched 14 months ago and the social media site has finally announced that it has 150 million daily active users. According to TechCrunch, due to the success of the Stories feature, Facebook will start testing 5- to - 15-second video ads in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. CEO Mark Zuckerberg warned that Facebook must ensure “that ads are as good in Stories as they are in feeds. If we don’t do this well, then as more sharing shifts to Stories, that could hurt our business.”

Facebook Stories ranks fourth in daily users behind WhatsApp Stories, Instagram Stories and Shapchat. Facebook is focusing on capitalizing on the international market by building features for different countries such as native language keyboards and cloud storage.

The social media site has also focused on adding cross-posting from other apps to enhance engagement including Boomerang, 3D doodling and 360 photos.
