TechCrunch: Facebook’s ‘Order Food’ Feature Officially Launches Across the U.S.

Now Facebook users don’t have to leave the app to order a pizza.

Now you can order food from Facebook without leaving the app. According to a recent TechCrunch article, Facebook announced the new feature's launch with partners including DoorDash, Delivery.com, EatStreet and more. The Order Food option can be found in the Explore menu within Facebook.

Users can browse restaurants and then click “Start Order” when ready for a takeout or delivery order. In addition, users can see reviews from their Facebook friends directly on the app. The Order Food option will be rolling out across the U.S. to all iOS users, Android and desktop. Facebook will not charge fees for the service or bring in revenue from the feature.

Facebook continues to find ways to keep users in the app for longer periods of time by monitoring the common tasks users leave the app for, including ordering food. Weather, games, jobs and fundraisers are just a few of the other features the company has introduced based on user activity.
