Google announced an update to its Image Search just one day after Pinterest introduced its latest visual search feature. According to a <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2017/08/01/google-image-search-gets-more-like-pinterest-by-connecting-you-to-recipes-products-and-more/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=techcrunch-google-image-search-gets-more-like-pinterest-by-connecting-you-to-recipes-products-and-more-2703517" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent TechCrunch article</a>, the new feature will connect web users search results to more than images&mdash;recipes, potential purchases and more.

New augmented search results will come with a badge and text explaining what actions you can take with the image. Website owners will not need to take any action since the company says it will automatically add badges when necessary.

This isn&rsquo;t the first time the company has mimicked new features of Pinterest. Google expanded its Image Search functionality to include apparel in April, going head to head with Pinterest&rsquo;s capabilities.
