TechCrunch: Instagram tests letting users post Stories directly to WhatsApp

Facebook is planning to expand its Instagram Stories feature to another app. According to a recent article in TechCrunch, the social media giant is testing out a way to allow Instagram users to publish their stories onto WhatsApp. This follows the company's earlier decision to add the Stories function to Facebook. 

The decision may be in part due to the popularity of WhatsApp abroad, nearly eclipsing the popularity of Facebook in some countries. Introducing Stories as an option may help increase the growth momentum of the app as well as drive daily traffic.

The integration will offer a more social aspect to WhatsApp and further tie together the apps owned by Facebook through a common feature. According to the article, the function is currently only being tested with a small user base.
