TechCrunch: Postmates adds another 100+ cities in the US, bringing total to 385

Chipotle is a part of the expansion, adding 300 locations to the app

Today, TechCrunch announced Postmates will be expanding to over 100 new cities, bringing its presence to a total of 385 cities in the U.S. and Mexico. The expansion will allow the delivery service to reach nearly 50 percent of all U.S. households. Part of the expansion includes Chipotle adding 300 new locations to the app.

“Chipotle is one of the most popular merchants on the Postmates platform. We are thrilled to grow this relationship, drive down the cost to our shared customers and increase our reliability together,” said Dan Mosher, SVP & Merchant Lead, Postmates, in a statement. “We’ve already delivered over 1 million of their burritos and 2 million of their burrito bowls to our customers and we will continue to ensure that their food is delivered just the way our customers want it.”

It was rumored that third-party delivery partners like Postmates and Grub Hub would merge to compete with giants like Amazon and Uber, but many are focusing on individual expansion to drive sales.
