TechCrunch: Twitter Will Offer 24/7 Streaming Video News in Partnership with Bloomberg

Twitter announces live video programming with Bloomberg.

Twitter’s COO and CFO Anthony Noto discussed the idea of video programming last week and it has already come to fruition with an announcement late Sunday night. According to a recent TechCrunch article, Twitter will now offer 24/7 video news broadcasts on Twitter beginning this fall.

The stream will feature new, original reporting from Bloomberg’s news offices as well as curated content from Twitter users that is verified by Bloomberg. While Bloomberg has already worked with Twitter on live content including the 2016 U.S. Presidential election and live debate coverage, the new arrangement will be expanded ad ad-supported.

Noto sees the value in reaching audiences that don’t pay for standard TV and believes Twitter is the right platform to test out live video programming.
