After 15 years in sales, Charles Smith, was looking for a new career opportunity. He eventually set his sights on franchising and partnered with JAN-PRO becoming a master franchisee.

"I wanted to have something I could control, where I dictated my viability in business," Smith told The Advocate.

Smith's business is one of many franchises growing in Louisiana offering owners business success and helping locals find jobs after the oil and gas crisis.

His Slidell based JAN-PRO services markets like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.
