In Florida it&#8217;s almost impossible to enjoy the summer months without the presence of pesky mosquitoes. June 21, 2015 marked the beginning of <a href="http://mosquitojoe.1851franchise.com/article_details/1872/Moultrie-News-Beat-the-bloodsuckers-Mosquito-Joe-Donates-money-and-blood-for-National-Mosquito-Control-Awareness-Week?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=the-destin-log-national-mosquito-control-awareness-week-1906" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">National Mosquito Awareness Week</a>, and to help consumers avoid the potentially dangerous viruses spread by mosquitoes, Sara Bess of <a href="http://mosquitojoefranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=the-destin-log-national-mosquito-control-awareness-week-1906" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Mosquito Joe</a> shared how to prevent them in the yard.&#8220;Mosquitoes love standing water. Anything that can hold water for more than four days is going to be a problem,&#8221; Bess told The Destin Log.While the county is spraying streets and abandoned lots for mosquitoes this year, Brian Shepheard, the south county foreman for the Okaloosa County Mosquito Control Department, told The Destin Log that residents should take responsibility for their own yard. To help with mosquito control, Bess suggested dumping out any standing water and drilling holes in any objects that could collect water. This suggestion is in line with the Florida Health Department&#8217;s promotion of Drain and Cover.According to the Florida Department of Health, residents should, &#8220;DRAIN standing water.
