There&rsquo;s no shortage of lobbyists in Washington, D.C. Thousands of lawyers, organizations and advocacy groups are all competing for influence over the policies that have the potential to make their way to the Congress floor. But even though there are a lot of voices trying to be heard, there are very few lobbyists who actually have a proven track record of getting things done.

One of those successful lobbyists is Robert Cresanti, the <a href="http://www.franchise.org/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=the-hill-ifa-president-ceo-named-one-of-2016s-top-lobbyists-7313" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">International Franchise Association&rsquo;s</a> president and CEO. In its recently released list of 2016&rsquo;s top lobbyists, The Hill notes that Cresanti has spent the year lobbying Congress to overturn the National Labor Relations Board&rsquo;s joint employer ruling while also fighting for regulatory reform.

The IFA has been public about its opposition to the NLRB&rsquo;s ruling, which states that franchisors and franchisees can share the ability to govern workers&rsquo; terms and conditions of employment. That split responsibility ultimately undermines the proven franchise model that accounts for more than none million jobs across the country.
