The 30-year-old restaurant chain that specializes in customizable salads, is the latest fast-casual restaurant chain to target Middle Tennessee for growth. A franchise group for the Philadelphia-based company has a development agreement to open eight <a href="saladworksfranchising.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Saladworks</a> locations across the Kentucky and Tennessee markets. Brian Fox of Eat Ur Greens, the franchise group that also includes Howard Harmon and Rett Dallas, said the growth plan will include several new locations in middle Tennessee over the next three to five years. The group opened Tennessee&#8217;s first <a href="http://saladworks.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=the-tennessean-saladworks-targeting-middle-tennessee-for-expansion-4241" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Saladworks</a> in late 2014 in Cool Springs and it also owns a location in Bowling Green, Ky. &#8220;We like the fact that (Saladworks) is a fast-casual concept &#8212; which from a restaurant standpoint and consumer standpoint there is a lot of migration toward fast-casual concepts rather than fast-food or sit-down restaurants &#8212; and the fact it involves healthy salads as entrees,&#8221; Fox said. Saladworks was founded in 1986 in New Jersey and the company now has more than 100 locations.
