Slim Chickens, the Fayetteville, Arkansas-based restaurant franchise, is opening its first location in the Tulsa market at the end of June. The restaurant, which is corporate owned, has been in the works for several years, but the team was waiting on the perfect location to expand the growing chain.

That perfect location is at 1100 E. Hillside Drive in Broken Arrow.

"Logistically, that area works and we are excited to finally be there," said Greg Smart, co-founder and chief marketing officer.

The location is also a prototype model being used for the franchise’s national expansion, and is one of 15 new restaurants slated to open in the next 12 months across the country. Slim Chickens also has plans for Tulsa to become a multi-unit market, using the Broken Arrow location to help spur the growth of several locations planned for the Tulsa area over the next several years.

“This is a key growth market for us,” said Sam Rothschild, chief operating officer. “While we’ve already had rapid growth in Oklahoma this year, our plan is to continue growing in the state until we’ve reached our capacity in each of the major cities and their surrounding communities.”
