Twitter Reports Higher Profits Despite Declining Users

Despite monthly active users falling by 9 million in Q3, the social media platform saw a 30% sale increase compared to the same time period last year.

Twitter has announced that it exceeded projected Q3 sales and profits. According to a recent article in CNN Business, this growth comes despite a declining number of active users on the social media platform. Compared to Q2, the number of monthly active users has fallen by nine million. In the United States specifically, the drop was roughly one million.

The company reported that this quarter’s profit was up 30% compared to the same time period last year. Sales reached a whopping $758 million.

"This quarter's strong results prove we can prioritize the long-term health of Twitter while growing the number of people who participate in public conversation," said CEO Jack Dorsey.

Twitter has recently cracked down on reducing the number of spam accounts on its platform and removing apps that violate its policies.
