@Twitter has a new voice, and it’s shouting from the rooftops--or, more accurately, the video boards in New York’s Times Square--to make sure you’ve heard.
According to a recent story from The Drum, the social media platform is following the lead of brands like Wendy’s and Netflix by adopting a more conversational tone with its flagship account. To promote the change, Twitter has launched an out-of-home advertising campaign, posting tweets from @Twitter like, “Is this thing on?” on digital billboards throughout Times Square.
The article noted that Twitter reported a 14-fold increase in replies to @Twitter’s tweets since the strategy adjustment to conversing more like a user than publishing like a company.
