Lansing, Michigan-based moving franchise TWO MEN AND A TRUCK*® has had many successes to celebrate since its inception in 1985, but Claudia and Steve Ziara, local owners in Houston, rounded off  a piece of company history by performing the five millionth move in the brand’s system on June 12.

“This year has been momentous for us in hitting milestones,” Jeff Wesley, chief financial officer, said. “Leading into our busiest summer months, we are expecting summer 2014 to continue on the same successful track.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK
® celebrated the occasion by offering Hung and Ly Tonthat, the customers who ordered the service, a free move and a neighborhood breakfast send-off. The Tonthats, who have used the brand’s services before, relocated from The Woodlands in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area to downtown Houston. Steve Ziara has been with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® since he was 16, when he took a job as a mover in Michigan. Fast forward 14 years, Steve purchased his own location in 2008 and has since expanded his territory into Kingwood, Texas May of this year.

“We have never felt anything but pride to work with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. We have met so many hardworking, dedicated, and inspirational people at every level of our organization,” Steve Ziara said. “We are a part of something great. Along with having strong arms and legs, the people of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® have big hearts, they look out for one another and help out a fellow employee or customer in a heartbeat.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK
® currently has four operating territories in Houston, with plans to open five more locations by the end of 2015. The brand is also employing strategic growth tactics to continue expanding in top development markets such as Maryland, Texas, Southern California and Portland, Oregon.

"We recently signed our 300th franchise location and reached our highest number of signings in a month by signing nine territories in May," said Wesley. "We also saw 14 percent growth in revenue during May, continuing our track record of 54 months of consecutive growth as a system."
