AKRON, Ohio —  TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®,  a national, full-service franchised moving company with more than 430 locations, is thrilled to announce Josh Payne, a seasoned multi-unit franchisee, has taken ownership of the Akron, Ohio, location. With more than 12 years of experience within the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK system, Payne continues to expand his footprint in the Buckeye State where he already operates several successful franchises.

Payne’s journey with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK began 12 years ago as a customer service representative. Over time, he climbed the ranks, taking on roles such as an in-home consultant and operations manager, eventually leading to franchise ownership. Payne now owns and operates locations in Fredericksburg, Va, Canton, Youngstown, Mansfield, and Zanesville, Ohio. His deep understanding of the Ohio market has been a key driver in his success.

“I have always thought highly of the franchising industry, especially from my experiences with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK,” said Payne. “The support from the Michigan Support Center team and the amount of resources and encouragement they provide is truly inspiring and makes you want to grow with the brand.”

Looking ahead, Payne has ambitious plans for the Akron location, including expanding into a larger facility that will allow for onsite storage services. He is also looking into introducing junk removal services. These expansions are part of Payne’s broader strategy to continuously improve and innovate, ensuring that customers receive the best possible service.

“We’re committed to exceeding customer expectations at every turn,” Payne said. “By investing in new technology, updating our fleet and expanding our service offerings, we’re ensuring that the Akron community will receive a great experience with the brand they already know and love.”

Payne also emphasized his dedication to community involvement, a value that has been integral to the Akron location since it was founded 29 years ago as a family-owned business. He plans to maintain the current team, ensuring a seamless transition for customers while continuing to build on the strong community ties that have been established.

The acquisition of the Akron location marks another significant milestone in Payne’s career with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. As he looks to the future, Payne is eager to continue growing with the brand, with plans to open additional locations in the coming years.
