In a press release <a href="https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/335628?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=tysons-claims-of-100-percent-plant-based-products-stir-controversy-2710370" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">reported by Entrepreneur</a>, Tyson discussed its new, brand Raised &amp; Rooted. The press release refers to the new line as &lsquo;100% plant-based&rsquo;, a somewhat nebulous term that has recently gained popularity in reference to goods that are made with no animal products.

&nbsp;

In spite of these claims, the two products Tyson is launching &mdash; vegetarian chicken nuggets and a burger patty &mdash; both contain animal products. A representative from Tyson stated that the brand&rsquo;s goal is not necessarily to create vegan options, but to make a product for consumers with blended diets who are looking for alternative protein sources. &ldquo;Today&rsquo;s consumers are seeking more protein options so we&rsquo;re creating new products for the growing number of people open to flexible diets that include both meat and plant-based protein,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2019/06/13/1868254/0/en/Tyson-Foods-Unveils-Alternative-Protein-Products-and-New-Raised-Rooted-Brand.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=tysons-claims-of-100-percent-plant-based-products-stir-controversy-2710370" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">said President and CEO Noel White.</a>
