Local Wireless Zone employees will host a fundraiser on Saturday, August 22, to support two of its workers in the wake of the August 3 circus tent collapse at the nearby Lancaster Fairgrounds.

The tent accident affected everyone at the Littleton Wireless Zone, where Chris Beattie, who is victim Robert Young’s stepbrother, and his nephew Rob Beliveau, both work.

The fundraiser will offer food, balloons, games and a chance to meet cage fighter Jesse “The Barbarian” Baughman at the Littleton Wireless Zone. Seven area locations will donate $18 to the Young family for each phone sold. There will also be donation cans set up at all seven stores for those who wish to contribute but who aren’t buying a phone.

“All of our employees are like family,” said Wireless Zone Manager Tina Dodge, who recalled that she got a call from Beattie soon after the tent collapse informing her of the accident.

Beattie said his sister-in-law and surviving niece are “in the healing process” and thanked his employer and colleagues for their kindness to him, Beliveau and their families.
