Labor needs and meeting delivery demands are just two of the major challenges U.S. chain restaurants will continue to face in 2019, according to a report in The Denver Post.

Demand for delivery and takeout options, for example, is forcing restaurants to get creative when it comes to packaging.

“Burgers and fries and shakes were not intended to be eaten half an hour after they were cooked,” Shake Shack Inc. Chief Financial Officer Tara Comonte said, according to the article.

The article also noted that since so many customers order their food online from third parties such as Uber Eats, that has created a debate over who owns the customer information - the restaurant they’re ordering from or the third party that delivers the food.
