Facebook is taking on TV companies and streaming services with its latest announcement--a new feature. According to a <a href="https://venturebeat.com/2017/08/09/facebook-launches-watch-tab-for-tv-shows-and-live-sports/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=venturebeat-facebook-launches-watch-tab-for-tv-shows-and-live-sports-2703633" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent VentureBeat article</a>, the social network has introduced Watch, which includes both original and user-generated content on a dedicated tab in the social app. The tab is replacing Marketplace and is intended to help&nbsp;creators and publishers build their audience of loyal fans and earn money for their content.

&ldquo;We hope Watch will be home to a wide range of shows &mdash; from reality to comedy to live sports. Some will be made by professional creators, and others from regular people in our community,&rdquo;&nbsp;said CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook&nbsp;post.

What you will see in your Watch tab will be based on what your friends and the other Facebook users are watching. To help users understand what a show is about and connect it with other similar videos, Show Pages are also being introduced to create communities and give users the chance to follow a show for updates.
