Matt Mandalinci never thought he’d go into franchising. Then he learned about the Elements Massage® brand, which offers customers a variety of therapeutic massage services across more than 250 studios. The Texas-based franchisee loved the brand’s focus on health and wellness.

“Others in the industry were too salon or spa-like for me,” he said. “You’ve got facials and esthetic services in them. Nothing against facials, but that’s not what I wanted. I love the Elements Massage brand because it only focuses on therapeutic massage services and was founded by a massage therapist. There are a lot of benefits to the services we provide.”

The Elements Massage brand was founded in 2006 and has since expanded its footprint across the U.S. and Canada and falls under the umbrella of parent company WellBiz Brands Inc., which also oversees the beauty concept Amazing Lash Studio® and the fitness concept Fitness Together®. Thanks to WellBiz Brands, the three franchise concepts benefit from industry-leading marketing, recruitment and retention support and more.

Mandalinci opened his first Elements Massage studio from the ground up with his daughter, Sibel, in February 2012. Today, Mandalinci and his wife Ban own and operate two Elements Massage studios in the Greater Houston area. Business has certainly boomed: One of their two locations expanded from seven rooms to 11 rooms.

“Franchising with the Elements Massage system is all about finding great massage therapists and marketing the business,” he said. “This brand doesn’t have a bunch of moving pieces that could put a business at risk, such as inventory. And, since we only focus on massage, franchisees don’t have to worry about hiring other types of professionals, such as estheticians.”

Mandalinci also has high praise for the WellBiz Brands leadership team, especially CEO Jeremy Morgan and Senior Vice President of Operations, Adam Passarelli.

“Jeremy single-handedly turned this franchise around and has done a phenomenal job,” he said. “If I was a prospective franchisee looking into the Elements Massage concept today, and I met Jeremy and Adam and this entire group that Jeremy has put together, I’d feel very comfortable. They’re all winners.”

He also praised the brand’s members and their loyalty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m very surprised by the loyalty of our customer base and the phone calls we’ve been getting,” he said. “That speaks to the service we provide at our Elements Massage studio and how much people need these services for their health and wellbeing.”

The WellBiz Brands leadership team is likewise thrilled to have franchisees like Mandalinci, who understand the health and wellness aspects of the business.

“Matt is a huge asset to the Elements Massage brand and is exactly the kind of franchisee we hope to attract to WellBiz Brands,” chief development officer, Matt Stanton said. “Thanks to the power of over 600 units across the three brands, the leadership team is able to deliver what we refer to as ‘The WellBiz Advantage.’ We can leverage marketing, operations and real estate support across all three brands to support our franchisees, and we are eager to speak with prospective franchisees who want to bring this kind of service to their communities.”

With its strong focus on health and wellness and its variety of therapeutic massages, Elements Massage is well-positioned to thrive in the industry.
