Wireless Zone Opens In Westmont, Ill.

The father-son combo finds a common bond through franchising.

In 1995, Jamal Khalaf became an entrepreneur. At that time, his son Munir was just a toddler. Fast forward 20 years and the father-son duo is opening their second Wireless Zone location with Munir following in his father's footsteps as frontman for this show.

“My whole life my father has been in the retail industry,” said Munir in a recent article by Bugle Newspapers, a Chicagoland publication. “He’s owned several businesses, ranging from clothing stores to used car dealerships to now cellphones. So, I’ve been exposed to the retail setting for as long as I can remember.”

Coming from Saudi Arabia in the mid 90's and seeing great success with previous business endeavors, Jamal knew the future of retail was in the digital space, thus becoming a part of the Wireless Zone franchise system. With their first Wireless Zone location seeing great success in Aurora, Illinois, it only made sense for the Khalaf's to expand to their second location in nearby Westmont.

“This allows me the opportunity to take what [my father’s] been doing his whole life, what I’ve been used to my whole life and put it together to make something out of it," Munir added. "We’re very excited about this second location."
