A recent article from Yahoo! Finance stated that U.S. businesses have continued to hire new employees in 2018, adding 234,000 jobs over the past month. The hiring is lead largely by businesses in the service industry including restaurants, hotels, retail stores and health care operators. This steady incline is nothing new, but still exciting considering companies have been consistently adding jobs since the end of the 2008 recession.

"At this point in the cycle, it's really impressive to still be generating this many jobs," Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, said. Moody's compiles the ADP data.

Although the ADA’s report and government figures diverge slightly, the unemployment rate has stayed at a low 4.1 percent over the past three months.
