AdAge: Pizza Hut’s New Ordering Ease: Pushing a Button on a Pair of Pie Top Shoes

Pizza technology is becoming more innovative than ever, giving us products we never knew we needed. According to a recent AdAge article, Pizza Hut has designed high-top sneakers that will allow you to order pizza with a push of a button.

The high-tops—being called Pie Tops—are an attempt to gain the attention of consumers in the crowded pizza marketplace. While Pizza Hut is the largest pizza chain, fourth-quarter sales were weak compared to Domino’s and Papa John’s who saw sales soar in the same quarter.

Since there will be a limited supply of Pie Tops available, Pizza Hut will also be offering a large, two-topping pizza for $7.99 for online orders in March and April.
