Pollo Campero, the Central American chicken franchise with 95 units in the U.S. and another 270 worldwide, will be exhibiting at the 2024 Multi-Unit Franchising Conference (MUFC) in Las Vegas, March 19–22 and sponsoring the Day 2 Luncheon. The conference is a celebrated opportunity for multi-unit and multi-brand franchisees to reunite and fuel ongoing growth, and Pollo Campero looks forward to connecting with passionate industry professionals.

After incredible success in recent years, the chicken franchise is driving its next season of U.S. growth and sees a great opportunity to partner with multi-unit entrepreneurs as it grows. Investors looking for more information can find the brand at booths #2128 / #2130 in the Alliance Ballroom.

“We will soon celebrate our 100th U.S. restaurant in Miami Gardens, and we are already looking forward to the 250-unit mark by 2027,” said Blas Escarcega, vice president of franchise development. “Pollo Campero has proven its strength in the U.S., and exhibiting at MUFC is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet with potential owners who we can partner with to continue driving our impressive growth.”

Escarcega explained that, for multi-unit franchisees with a range of concepts already established in their portfolio, Pollo Campero offers an attractive addition in a stable market segment.

“Franchisees who have a burger or pizza concept, for example, can seamlessly add Pollo Campero to the mix,” said Escarcega. “This allows them to join the growing chicken category, which continues to exceed the average performance of the restaurant industry as a whole, with a unique, flavorful option. Our brand is the perfect fit for someone who wants to diversify.”

Pollo Campero has successfully developed impressive brand recognition in the U.S., building on its already powerful Central American fan base.

In 2023, Pollo Campero opened 11 new restaurants, introduced a new prototype in St. Cloud, Florida, saw its U.S. same store sales rise 12%, and increased system-wide sales by 19% year-over-year, making it the strongest year on record for Pollo Campero.

As we continue to grow, our brand awareness increases, and even more guests can experience Campero meals,” said LJ Rodas, chief operating officer and managing director. “What used to be primarily a Central American brand is crossing over to the U.S. with strong momentum, and we’re very excited about that.”

Maintaining the momentum built in 2023, Pollo Campero plans to open at least 25 new restaurants this year and continue forging partnerships with growing franchisees. Escarcega explained that the ideal Pollo Campero candidate has multi-unit experience with at least one concept that matches Pollo Campero’s capital investment, as well as the resources and drive to develop multiple Pollo Campero locations. Furthermore, he’s looking forward to meeting with entrepreneurs who resonate with the Pollo Campero culture and will fully embrace it.

“We want someone who understands our brand, our traditions and our core values,” said Escarcega. “We’re not just looking at the money and the experience, but also the passion for the product. We want franchise candidates who really love our products, who really love our history and who want to grow with us.”
