U.S. Franchise Jobs Bounce Back in June
As of this June, U.S. franchise job growth has rebounded after a 14-month low, according to the ADP National Franchise Report. U.S. "private sector franchise jobs increased by 28,800 or 0.3 percent month over month," according to CNBC. This increase has brought the franchise industry back to a level exceeding the 12-month average of job gains.

Obama Calls for Change in Overtime Pay Law
This week President Obama proposed a change to the nation’s overtime pay law that could affect over 5 million U.S. workers. The change would dramatically expand the number of people who qualify for increased pay after working more than 40 hours a week. The proposed rule would raise the threshold for overtime pay from a salary of $23,660 to $50,440.

Casual dining chain TGI Fridays has launched a new promotion allowing fans who have made a purchase at one of their restaurants share a free burger with fellow social media network users. The new “Jump Burger: Buy One, Give One” promotion is designed to engage fans both inside the restaurant and beyond. Fans need to enter their receipt-printed password into the brand’s microsite to receive a redemption code to share with friends.
