The athletes, coaches and even the media are all preparing for the big game this Sunday. According to a recent Adweek article, as the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, Papa John’s and its Chief Ingredient Officer, Sean Muldoon, must also be prepared for one of the biggest nights of the year for pizza sales.

In the past, pizza deliveries have increased by 35 percent for the Super Bowl. As the volume hits its highest of the year, Muldoon is responsible for keeping the taste consistent and up to par. He’s the man behind product innovations including the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza and the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza but also the new “clean label” initiative.

“In 2016, we removed all artificial flavors and colors from our menu,” said Muldoon. “That was a huge accomplishment.”
