McDonald&rsquo;s Corp. suffered a setback in their efforts to resolve a long-running dispute with former franchise employees this week, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-07-17/nlrb-judge-rejects-mcdonald-s-proposed-settlement-on-retaliation?utm_source=yahoo&amp%3Butm_medium=bd&amp%3Butm_campaign=headline&amp%3BcmpId=yhoo.headline&amp%3Byptr=yahoo&utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=agency-judge-strikes-down-mcdonalds-labor-accord-2707204" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">reports Bloomberg</a>.

An administrative judge on the National Labor Relations Board has tossed out a settlement that would prevent further litigation over a claim by former employees alleging they were fired for participating in the so-called Fight for $15, a national movement for union rights and a nationwide minimum wage of $15.

The franchise is not disputing the claim, instead arguing that it should not be liable as a &ldquo;joint employer&rdquo; with the franchisees who fired the claimants.

The proposed settlement was rejected due in part to a lack of &ldquo;certain fundamental elements&rdquo; and a &ldquo;history of antagonism&rdquo; suggesting the accord had little chance success, wrote the judge.
