Real estate is harder and harder to find these days. According to a recent article in Franchise Times, franchise brands like Beef 'O' Brady's and The Brass Tap—both of which are concepts under Tampa-based FSC Franchise Co.—are leveraging good relationships with developers to gain entry into retail centers in emerging markets in order to get a leg up on the competition.
“It is great to have a developer that really understands us, our concept and our ability,” Peter Petrosian, chief development officer at Tampa-based FSC Franchise Co. told Franchise Times.
Petrosian and his team work with WP Glimcher Inc. and have opened several restaurants and bars in shopping centers they develop.
“When we are out looking for retailers and restaurants and service uses for our projects, we are looking for concepts that are not only good for our projects, but we are looking for people we can trust,” Paul Ajdaharian, Executive VP of Community/Lifestyle Centers for WP Glimcher, told FT.
The Brass Tap is opening a location in the Waterford Lakes Town Center being developed by WP Glimcher this fall.
