The Brass Tap, a Tampa-based craft beer bar and entertainment, is rapidly making its way across the nation with openings in new markets including California, Georgia and Texas. There’s no stopping the momentum of The Brass Tap, and publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine are taking notice, ranking the brand in their 41st Annual Franchise 500, an influential ranking of 2020’s strongest franchise brands.

The team of franchisees, Ridham Bhatt, Kirat Shahiwala and Ravi Patel have signed on to bring five locations of The Brass Tap to the Greater Dallas area with the first location set to open in Rockwall, Texas, in the spring of 2020 and plans to expand their four additional stores across Plano, Sachse, The Colony and Sherman.

The trio all have a diverse background in IT, business ownership, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, giving them a well-rounded breadth of experience as seasoned businessmen and leaders in their respective industries.

Cousins Bhatt and Shahiwala, along with their friend Patel, started looking into franchise investments together after enjoying many years of professional success in their fields, and while each business partner had slightly different motivations for entering franchising, they could all agree on one thing: The Brass Tap was a sound investment and offered a unique and proven business model.

“We were looking for something to invest in, in order to diversify our business portfolio and reached out to several other franchises before coming across the opportunity to franchise with The Brass Tap,” said Shahiwala. “The experience and response we received was amazing.”

The business partners were introduced to the brand by Bhatt, who was a regular patron at The Brass Tap in Allen, Texas. The trio not only loved the concept for its great food, rotating selection of craft beers and relaxed environment, but the potential to recreate for those communities surrounding the booming Dallas metro the same friendly neighborhood bar experience they enjoyed in their college days.

“It’s a successful and proven model,” said Patel. “We’re just implementing what has already been proven.”

Trying out craft beer at local breweries had become a hobby for Bhatt when he was on the road during his career in IT, and The Brass Tap stood out as a leader in the space, due to their elevated beverage and food offerings.

“Nothing caught our eyes quite like The Brass Tap,” said Bhatt. “It’s the perfect neighborhood bar and hangout to go to after work to relax or spend time with friends and family.”

The brand currently has 42 units in operation, with 45 additional locations in the development pipeline and is continuing to develop throughout Texas markets including Dallas and Houston. In recent years, the brand has increased its average unit volume (AUV) by $400,000, rising from average sales of $1.2 million to $1.6 million for the top quartile of Brass Tap locations and is continuing to gain momentum with recent multi-unit deals, such as the Dallas signing.

“We’re thrilled about the success of the brand throughout the Dallas metro area, and see tremendous potential for development across Texas, including in the Houston market,” said Jamie Cecil, Vice President of Franchise Development for The Brass Tap.

The initial start-up investment for The Brass Tap ranges between $664,050 and $1,223,000 with a franchise fee of $35,000. To learn more about franchising opportunities with The Brass Tap, visit https://thebrasstapfranchise.com/.
