The Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. economy is back on track for a solid third quarter after an increase in consumer spending, confidence and income in August. The Commerce Department reported today that consumer spending has increased 4.1 percent from last year, which is a slight acceleration from previous months. Spending on goods, specifically, rose 0.4 percent in August compared with July. This has positively affected brands such as Buffalo Wings & Rings, a sports restaurant franchise based in Cincinnati, which held its sales steady during its typically slow summer months. In the summertime, between March Madness and the start of football season, sales usually taper off, but this year they did not. “Consumer confidence is up,”  chief executive Nader Masadeh told the Wall Street Journal. “People are starting to spend some money.” Read more by clicking: http://online.wsj.com/articles/u-s-consumer-spending-increased-0-5-in-august-1411993899
