Central Penn Business Journal: Business Trend Expectations in Central Pennyslvania

FranNet franchise consultant Steve Buch elaborates on the small business climate in Central Penn and what he expects in 2017

The time around the holidays is reportedly a time that sees a spike in prospective franchise owners inquiring about opportunities for franchise ownership.

"There are more people on vacation and they have the time to mill around on the internet," Steve Buch, FranNet Franchise Consultant told the Central Penn Business Journal reporter.

FranNet is a service that helps prospective franchisees find the business that is the best fit, often working with clients who are looking for career transitions or have been recently laid off.

In Central Pennyslvania, there are certain trends that are definitely picking up steam. According to Buch, fast-food dining focused on high-quality ingredients are growing in interest. Recently, the market has also seen a pickup in franchises that focus on building maintenance and cleaning needs. The Cleaning Authority opened in October 2016 with owners Dennis and Jamie Shepard.

"There is room to grow here," Dennis Shepard told the reporter. "There are a lot of dual-income families who have a lot going on and don't always have a lot of time to clean their homes."
