Roast-beef purveyor and fast-food-chain giant Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. today named Hilton Worldwide executive Paul Brown as the company’s new chief executive officer. In addition to serving as Hilton’s president of brands and commercial services since 2008, Brown’s myriad of past positions include president of Expedia.com, senior vice president of InterContinental Hotels Group and partner at McKinsey & Company. “Paul is the ideal leader to further Arby’s strategic vision and build upon our strong sales performance and momentum,” Jon Luther, chairman of the Arby’s board of directors, said in a release. “We’re thrilled to be able to attract this level of talent, which is indicative of our future growth potential.” Beginning May 13, Brown’s new role as CEO will consist of working with franchisees, as well as Arby’s management to “enhance the company’s culture, systems and processes to further innovate Arby’s product offerings, improve the customer experience and achieve strong financial results.” Brown received his bachelor’s degree at Georgia Tech, and he also holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He serves as a member of the board of directors of H&R Block, the Georgia Tech Advisory Board and the Junior Achievement of Great Washington.
