Checkers continues to see incredible growth throughout the country, and is now targeting the State College, Pennsylvania-area for development. The Centre Daily Times recently spoke with Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer Jennifer Durham about Checkers and potential plans in State College. <a href="http://www.centredaily.com/2015/11/12/5012173/checkers-considering-state-college.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=centre-daily-times-checkers-targets-state-college-pennsylvania-location-for-expansion-2872" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">According to the piece</a>, Checkers is looking for franchisees to bring the brand to the area. Said Durham to the Times, &#8220;There&#8217;s no Checkers in the market there, which presents a great opportunity to come in and own the market... It&#8217;s also a really nice convergence of the working class and Penn State populations that has proven through competition that it&#8217;s a burger loving market.&#8221; In order to join the Checkers team, potential franchise partners would need a minimum of $250,000 in liquidity and a minimum $500,000 in net worth.
