In early 2016, Christian Brothers Automotive announced that they would be breaking ground in an untapped market—Greenville, South Carolina.
This fall, one of the country’s top automotive repair franchises will be opening a new store as part of its overall expansion into the South Carolina market. The company’s first South Carolina location opened in Tega Cay in July 2014, and according Josh Wall, the brand’s vice president of franchise and strategic development, Christian Brothers Automotive is just getting started.
“The level of interest in our brand and the quality of our franchise candidates is only getting stronger. That’s perfectly aligned with Christian Brothers’ mission to grow the right way with the right local business owners,” Wall said. “The buzz around our brand has been rapidly expanding year after year across the country, and we’re really excited to see this trend continue in South Carolina.”
So far this year, Christian Brothers has opened three new locations, and there are more than 30 families in the pipeline who are set to open franchises of their own. In the past six months, Christian Brothers has expanded their development to new cities like Chicago, Philadelphia and Phoenix. To date, there are over 150 locations throughout the country. Now, as the brand continues to grow at a record pace, Wall believes that South Carolina’s open territory will help move Christian Brothers forward in the years to come.
Greenville in particular is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the nation, with population growth of more than 30 percent since 2000. The area’s economy is booming, too. After transitioning from textiles to auto manufacturing, aircraft and technology, Greenville has experienced the highest international investment per capita in the nation. For all of these reasons and more, Wall believes that Greenville makes for a promising place to open additional Christian Brothers locations.
“Our expansion into new territories this year shows how far we’re stretching our geographical footprint. That expansion will lay the groundwork not just for the rest of the year but for Christian Brothers’ development in the years ahead.”
Franchise Business Review recently named Christian Brothers a best auto repair franchise, based on franchisee satisfaction. The market research firm surveyed 28,000 franchisees representing more than 300 brands. Franchise Business Review also named Christian Brothers one of the Top 50 brands overall for the 9th year in a row.
"We've worked to create a business that will attract people who are focused on customer service, integrity and giving back to the community," Wall said. “We work together to be a light in the auto repair industry, take stress out of the customers’ lives and treat them like we’d like everyone to be treated. That kind of care can really go a long way.”
