Mashable: Starbucks’ New Espresso-Infused IPA Will Get You Hopped Up On Caffeine

The Seattle-based coffee chain is combining the best of both worlds on their menu with a new coffee-infused beer.

Beer snobs and coffee addicts can now enjoy their two obsessions all in one drink. According to a recent Mashable article, Starbucks announced a new coffee-infused beer called the Espresso Cloud IPA as a part of the “Starbucks Evenings” menu, which is available at a limited number of locations.

A member of the Starbucks research and development team explains a chilled shot of espresso is dropped into a glass of beer that is topped with a head of coffee froth that includes hints of orange and vanilla.

If dropping coffee into a glass of beer is not your cup of tea, customers are welcome to drink to the two separately. The company highly recommends the two together though, and the drink’s inventor Justin Burns-Beach says, "It just blows my mind."

The brand reported that the product has taken a year’s worth of research to develop and will be an addition to the bar-like “Starbucks Evenings” menu that has included a number of interesting caffeinated cocktails, which was introduced a few years ago.
