Despite a push toward healthier food, Americans are still craving their doughnuts. Franchises around the country will be lining up this year to satisfy that demand. Big name companies like
Dunkin’ Doughnuts and
Krispy Kreme are leading the charge with rapid expansion plans in the next five years.
Krispy Kreme said in a recent presentation that it planned on opening more than 400 new stores by 2017, a growth of 260 stores. Dunkin’ foresees more than 360 new stores by the end of the year with an eye on Western markets like Los Angeles and San Diego by 2015. This continued growth makes the doughnut franchise a lucrative investment for potential franchisees.
